Bullet Journal – January Flip Through

I originally began bullet journaling back in October 2016, but because I was using the Lime Green Leuchtturm1917 A5 Hardcover Lined Journal that I had on hand, I didn’t feel like I could really do the spreads right without having the dots or graph lines to help me. I did the best I could but in the back of my mind I kept telling myself that maybe I should/would treat myself to a dotted Leuchtturm1917 in Purple with Christmas money and start the new year fresh in a new journal. As it turns out my son somehow ordered exactly that for me as a gift so all I had to do was wait not so patiently for it to show up at my door. It came just in time to take it on our weekend cabin getaway over the new year.

I know how much I like seeing what other people choose to out in their permanently-bound bullet journals. The fact that it was important enough to use one of the pages in their journal means it is worth looking at in my opinion. So I thought maybe I would share mine too.

2017 Goals

When Did I Last …

My Word of the Year – FEARLESS

Week 1 (My first weekly layout on dot grid paper, made mistakes too)

Week 2 (Decided it needed more color, and went with the weekly water tracker. Can you tell my daughter got me the Tombow Dual Brush Pen Art Markers, Bright, 10-Pack as a gift?)

Yearly Water and Sleep Trackers and Crochet Hat Goal Tracker (used the Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Pens to draw the various colors used in each hat and fill the sleep and water trackers)

Books Read This Year

Podcast Tracker and On Loan Tracker (Note, I will add more boxes as I listen to more episodes of the podcasts. I wanted to go back and start listening from the beginning and figured I’d catch up eventually.)

Week 3 (Note new layout with more room to write. Moved steps to a weekly tracker too. Used my Purple Sharpie Pen and my Bic 4-Color Fashion Ball Pen to do this spread.)

Week 4 (Used a bunch of my Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Pens to decorate the days and the Bic 4-Color Fashion Ball Pen pink ink to color water tracker. I also used the green ink from the BIC 4-Color Ball Pen to write the step counts in.)

Future Tracker (Once I got this far into it I decided maybe I really DID need a future tracker. So I did one from February 2017 to January 2018. Nothing fancy, but had to add a tiny bit of color. I added a Blue Post-It Tab to help me find the page quickly.)

Week 5 (Used the Tombow Dual Brush Pens to add the color to the days, the Bic 4-Color Fashion Ball Pen to fill the water tracker and the Bic 4-Color Ball Pen to write in the step counts, sleep and meals.)

Books – Movies – TV Recommended and Restaurants To Try Spreads

Fortune Cookies (This is one of my favorite spreads. It makes me smile every time I see it. I was in the habit of saving the little slips, especially when they seemed particularly relevant to my life, but I never knew what to DO with them. This is the solution. I left the page to the left of it blank in case I need more room for Restaurants to Try or Fortune Cookies, or maybe split it and use it for both. I used Rubber Cement to stick the slips to the page.)

Week 6 (I decided it was time for something bright and cheery, so I pulled out the Tombows again and planned out this page. I love how it turned out. It was almost too much color. It took forever to do and I doubt I will go to that much trouble again, but live and learn, right?

So that is all I have in this year’s bullet journal except for this week’s spread and we will save that for the next flip through. You probably noticed I don’t do monthly or daily pages. For now the weekly pages and future log seem to be working for me.

I have 3 other notebooks I use almost daily. My Gratitude Log, My Writer’s Bullet Journal and My Listers Gotta List Challenge Notebook. If you want to see what those look like, comment below and tell me which one you want to see first.

Please subscribe to my email list so you will never miss another post. (The sign up form is in the upper right corner of all the pages on this domain. Thanks for taking the time to scroll down this far. I hope you enjoyed the photos of my bullet journal. I would love to see what your BuJo looks like too.
