About Damon Floyd

Damon Milton Floyd (in his own words)

I was born 1 December 1932 in Muncie, Indiana and graduated from Muncie Central High school in 1951. I joined the Navy in August 1952 and retired 30 March 1972 as a Master Chief Electrician's Mate while stationed at the U.S. Naval Training Center, San Diego, California.

After retirement from the Navy I worked for Litton Ship Systems in Pascagoula, Mississippi until January 1975 when I went to work for Powell Electrical Mfg. Co. In Houston, Texas. During this time I was Chief Inspector until I was transferred into the Field Service Department and started traveling the world again supervising the installation and start up of the equipment made by the company. This was mainly in the oil field areas of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the rest of South East Asia.

From 1982 to 1987 I lived in the Republic of Singapore and was a private electrical consultant to the various oil companies in that area. In February 1987, I finally retired and came back to Muncie.

I have one daughter, Tammy Lea. She and her husband, Johnny Timmons, with their two daughters Wendy Ann and Johnnie Lynn live in Bayview, Texas.
